而新能源汽车下也细分为多个车型，大致分为三类：EV、HEV和PHEV，同时它们各有区别。
1、EV 车型
EV车型英文全称为Electric Vehicle，中文翻译为电动车，在国内被称为纯电动车。
电动汽车顾名思义就是主要采用电力驱动的汽车，通过电动机提供动力。
2、HEV 车型
HEV车型英文全称为Hybrid Electric Vehicle，中文翻译为混合动力车型。国内更喜欢称之为双擎。
混合动力是指那些采用传统燃料的，同时配以电动机/发动机来改善低速动力输出和燃油消耗的车型，减少了汽车对化石燃料的需求，提高了燃油经济性，从而达到节能减排和缓解温室效应的效果。
3、PHEV车型
PHEV车型英文全称为Plug in Hybrid Electric Vehicle，中文翻译为插电式混合动力车。
它介于纯电动与燃油车之间，此类车型的电池容量较大，有专门的充电插口。当车辆电能不足时发动机会介入给电到动力电池，同时它还有着电动车型的优点，完全可以作为一款纯电动车型使用。
